Transportation limitations are one of the biggest challenges facing seniors in our community. Medical Mobility helps alleviate that hurdle by providing escorted rides for elders to and from their medical appointments. Our clients tell us that having an escort ready and available to pick them up after appointments provides tremendous peace of mind. This is because it can often be difficult for a client to find their bearings after an appointment. Finding a bus stop or coordinating with a ride service can be a confusing and difficult burden. Our Medical Mobility volunteers are ready to assist elders in these types of situations.
As a volunteer driver, you will pick up a client from their home, bring them to their appointment, and then you may either wait or return to take the client home afterwards, or another driver will return them. These ongoing, flexible volunteer positions are one of the most rewarding ways to work directly with elders in our community and make a big difference in their lives.
Volunteers use their own vehicles are eligible for mileage reimbursement at .35 cents per mile in Boulder county and .45 cents per mile if you go out of Boulder County.
